Not for the faint of heart, here’s the teaser for Among Friends, the directorial debut of actress and all-around cool chick Danielle Harris. The synopsis: “A dinner party set against an 80’s backdrop goes wrong when one in a group of friends hijacks the evening in an attempt to help the others come clean about their secret betrayals to one another, and is willing to cut through the bone in order to expose the truth.”

Scripted by Alyssa Lobit, this fun, twisted concept sounds great to me and I’m anxious to see what Danielle can do behind the camera. Plus, if you couldn’t tell by my last two horror movie posts, I’ve got kind of a fanboy boner for AJ Bowen, who co-stars in this. Consider me all-around excited.

If you’ve seen Nip/Tuck, you already know that writers/producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (also of Glee fame) have a rather dark, twisted sense of storytelling, one that is as disturbing as it is humorous. Given that, I’m rather excited that they’ve ventured into the horror genre with their new series, American Horror Story, and am anxious to see how they put their prints on it. Peep the teaser above.

Caught this little gem at the Dallas International Film Festival earlier this week. Even thought there’s no semblance whatsoever of the plot in this teaser trailer, you know those trippy visuals make you want to see it, too. And trust me: You want to see this film!

Yeah. Kevin Smith directed this… No, seriously, dude.

When I first heard my long-time idol Kevin Smith was delving into the horror genre for his next flick, I was instantly ecstatic, but admittedly skeptical that it would actually qualify as a true-blue “Horror” film. After viewing the short but oh-so sweet teaser trailer above, I can rest assured. This film looks lean & mean and down & dirty, a 90 minute collection of visuals and ideas sure-fired to eff you up for quite some time.

Needless to say, I can’t wait.

I just re-watched this over the weekend. You should, too.
