Yay Alex Kurtzman! One half of my favorite writing duo - that being Kurtzman and his partner, Roberto Orci, the guys behind The Island, Transformers, Star Trek, Fringe and some other stuff you may well have heard of - has stepped behind the camera to direct this wonderful little gem of a film.
Locke and Key is one of the best graphic novel series I will ever read: compelling stories, fully-developed characters, existential thrills, the whole nine. Needless to say, I was pretty ecstatic to learn that Fox would be producing a television pilot based on the books. Still, it baffles me that their excuse for not optioning the pilot for series it that they “don’t feel it will capture an audience.” Um… Have you seen San Diego at the end of July? Whatever. Don’t take my word for it. Take a gander at the trailer for the pilot.
